West Liberty, W.Va. – The No. 10-ranked West Liberty University men's wrestling team is set to compete in the prestigious NWCA/USMC Multi-Division National Duals this Friday and Saturday in Cedar Falls, Iowa. The event will take place at the UNI Dome and will showcase elite competition across seven divisions of collegiate wrestling, including NCAA, NAIA, and NJCAA programs.
West Liberty opens the duals against No. 6 and fifth-seeded McKendree University at 10 a.m. Friday on Mat 11.
The tournament field features a powerhouse lineup, including Augustana University, Glenville State University, Grand Valley State University, King University, Maryville University, McKendree University, St. Cloud State University, Tiffin University, University of Central Missouri, University of Central Oklahoma, University of Indianapolis, University of Mary, University of Nebraska-Kearney, University of Wisconsin-Parkside, and Upper Iowa University.
Momentum from Fairmont State Open
The Hilltoppers head to Iowa with confidence, following a dominant performance at the Fairmont State Open, where they claimed the team title with 170.5 points, a commanding 74.5-point lead over runner-up Apprentice. Four West Liberty wrestlers captured individual championships, while others delivered strong performances:

184 lbs. – Ty McGeary: The nation's top-ranked wrestler in his weight class, McGeary dominated with two technical fall victories en route to his title.

133 lbs. – James Armstrong Jr.: Secured a hard-fought 3-2 victory in the finals to take first place.

165 lbs. – Alec Cook: Powered through his bracket with a fall, technical fall, major decision, and a 5-1 victory in the finals.
