Muskingum, Ohio – The West Liberty University men's and women's indoor track and field teams delivered impressive performances, earning fourth-place finishes at the Muskie Meet #1 hosted by Muskingum University on Saturday.
Women's Highlights
The women's team was led by Ky'Ara Ross, who dominated the sprints. Ross claimed first place in the 60m dash with a blazing time of 7.80, while Sierra Lanham finished seventh at 8.23. Ross added a runner-up finish in the 200m dash, clocking 26.77, with Lanham securing another seventh-place spot at 27.72.
In the relays, the women's 4x200m team of Ross, Lanham, Kaylee Davis, and Brookelyn Reynolds soared to victory with a time of 1:51.42. The 4000m medley relay team placed third at 14:00.89, and the 4x400m team finished seventh at 4:30.30.
Lacey Dimit turned in a strong performance in the mile run, finishing fourth in 5:28.30, while Morgan Lesnansky was seventh in 5:40.15.
In the field events, Pamela Kandrach placed fourth in the shot put with a throw of 12.15m, and Hailey Harris tied for fourth in the high jump, clearing 1.55m. In the weight throw, Haley Norris (13.89m) and Katie Hill (13.83m) secured sixth and seventh, respectively, while Ava Cash was seventh in the pole vault at 2.75m.
Men's Highlights
The men's team excelled in field events, with Issac Tavo leading the charge. Tavo claimed victory in the shot put with a throw of 16.04m and added an eighth-place finish in the weight throw at 13.96m. Izack Messer was seventh in the shot put, reaching 13.57m.
In the high jump, Ethan Furbee tied for second, clearing 1.85m, while Jamal Mounchivedi placed fifth at 1.80m. Andrew King (12.19m) and BriJaun Baylor (12.01m) finished fifth and sixth in the triple jump, respectively. Baylor also took sixth in the long jump at 6.24m, and Julius Hobbs was fifth in the pole vault, clearing 4.11m.
On the track, Patrick Childers stole the spotlight in the 5000m, winning with a time of 18:57.88. Francis Toohey finished fifth in the mile run at 4:38.90, and the 4x400m relay team secured fourth place at 3:41.88.
Looking Ahead
The women's team will return to action at Ashland University on January 25, while the men will compete at Youngstown State on January 31 and February 1.
