HOW IT HAPPENED
- Frostburg State wasted little time lighting the fuse on a wild opening quarter when Myles Fulton found Trashaun Timmons behind the WLU secondary for a 65-yard touchdown on the Bobcats' first offensive snap
- Frostburg made it 8-0 on a 2-point conversion but the Hilltoppers flashed their own quick-strike capability when Trevor Lagarde flipped a short pass over the middle to Hunter Patterson and the speedy TB split two defenders to break into the clear and sprinted 81 yards to paydirt
- Fulton answered for FSU with another 65-yard scoring bomb, this time firing a strike to Amari N'namdi-Hall to make it 15-6 Bobcats
- Following an exchange of punts, Patterson took a quick handoff up the middle and once again outraced the FSU secondary for an 80-yard touchdown run, cutting the lead to 15-13
- Frostburg came up with another big play in the passing game as Timmons once more got open deep, hauling in a Fulton rainbow for a 58-yard score and a 22-13 Bobcat lead
- An exchange of punts gave WLU a short field and Patterson delivered his third TD of the first quarter on a 17-yard run, making it 22-20 Frostburg State with just 34 seconds left in the opening frame
- Fulton wasn't finished, however. On the second snap following the kickoff, Fulton heaved a 77-yard scoring strike to N'namdi-Hall for a 29-20 FSU lead. Fulton had 293 passing yards and 4 passing TDs in the first quarter alone
- The Bobcats pushed West Liberty off the scoring see-saw on the ensuing possession when Jaylen Boyd pulled down a deflected Lagarde pass deep in his own territory and ran it back for an 80-yard touchdown and a 36-20 Frostburg State lead
- The teams then traded possessions for the next few minutes before Myles fired his fifth TD pass of the opening half, hitting Jeremiah Gibson from 35 yards out for a 43-20 advantage with 4:48 left in the second quarter
- West Liberty cut the gap to 43-23 with a 26-yard Tyler Waddell field goal in the final minute of the first half but could come no closer
- Bobcat TB Sean Aaron made his presence felt midway through the third quarter with a 64-yard touchdown run for a 50-23 FSU lead
- Frostburg State RB Andre Smith closed out the scoring with a 47-yard touchdown run at 7:03 of the fourth quarter, producing the 57-23 final tally
