Men’s Basketball Announces 2024-25 Schedule

WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. - The West Liberty University men's basketball team has unveiled its 2024-25 season schedule. WLU will play a 28-game slate featuring a home and away game against each conference opponent along with six non-conference matchups.Coach Ben Howlett's squad will tip the season off with two games in the Atlantic Region Crossover, which is hosted by West Liberty, on November 8 and 9. WLU will take on West Chester in the event's opening game on Friday and then Bluefield State. in the nightcap Saturday. 

Shepherd comes to town the following week for a Saturday afternoon contest to finish off a three-game homestand against non-conference opponents for the 'Toppers to open the season.The quest for a Mountain East Conference Championship begins in the friendly confines of the Academic, Sports and Recreation Complex against Point Park. The MEC welcomed Point Park as its newest member following their acceptance into the NCAA Division II membership process. The non-conference schedule is highlighted by a Las Vegas trek in the middle of December. West Liberty will take on fellow NCAA Division II powerhouse Colorado Mines and Missouri S&T in two games at the Las Vegas Holiday Hoops Classic on December 19 and 20. 

The Hilltoppers will open up the new year at Frostburg State before returning home for back-to-back games inside the ASRC against MEC foes Fairmont State and Concord. Three road contests at Glenville State, Point Park and Wheeling and a home game against West Virginia State close out the month of January. In February the month tips off with a road game at Charleston. A few days later, WLU travels to Davis and Elkins before returning home for a matchup against WV Wesleyan on February 8. The Hilltoppers remain at home for another game against Frostburg State on February 12 before traveling to MEC rival Fairmont State. Home games against Glenville State, Salem and the long trip to Athens, W.Va. to play Concord will close out the month of February.

The Hilltoppers will close out the regular season against Ohio County Rival Wheeling inside the ASRC on Saturday March 1. The MEC Basketball Tournament is scheduled for March 5-9 at WesBanco Arena in Wheeling. W.Va.
