West Liberty, W.Va. – Both the West Liberty University men's and women's track & field teams recorded second place finishes on Friday evening at the Golden Eagle Invitational. The men's program totaled 90.5 points at UC Stadium with wins by
Tavian Richardson (800m run) and
Mikhi Anderson (110m hurdles) as the team notched 23 top-10 finishes. The women's program tallied 104 points with wins by
Sierra Davis (discus) and
Ky'Ara Ross (100 & 200m dash) as the team collected 25 top-10 finishes.

HOW IT HAPPENED – WLU MEN'S TRACK & FIELD
- West Liberty posted a pair of top-10 finishes in the long jump, as Daminn Cunningham earned a fourth place finish with a mark of 6.19m (20-03.75) while Quinn Ashbrooke was sixth with a jump of 5.99 (19-08.00).
- Joshua Fancher notched an eighth place finish in the shot put with a mark of 13.28m (43-07.00).
- Fancher added another top-10 finish in the discus throw as he recorded a ninth place finish with a mark of 41.68m (136-09).
- The Hilltoppers took three of the top-5 spots in the high jump as they were led by Mikhi Anderson with a second place finish and mark of 1.85m (6-00.75). Finishing second in the event was Ethan Furbee with a jump of 1.85m (6-00.75), and Cunningham was tied for fifth with a mark of 1.80m (5-10.75).
- Ashbrooke added another top-10 finish with a triple jump mark of 12.83m (42-01.25) for third place.
- John Brown recorded a third place finish in the hammer throw with a career-best mark of 48.29m (158-05) while Mason Fraley finished just outside of the top-10 with a mark of 39.90m (130-11) for 11th place.
- Tavian Richardson won the 800m run with a time of 1:58.53 while Francis Toohey was sixth with a time of 2:01.77. Jasper Brown rounded out the top-10 as he crossed the line in a time of 2:04.85 while Brody Cermak was just outside of the top-10 in 11th with a time of 2:06.24.
- West Liberty went one-two in the 110m hurdles as Anderson posted a winning time of 15.09 while George Donovic was second with a time of 15.47. Jacob Huffman recorded an eighth place time of 18.01 while Malachi Stewart and Jonathan Stout were tenth and 11th respectively with times of 19.57 and 24.06.
- Arthur Williams notched a seventh place finish in the 400m dash and recorded a time of 53.33.
- Nathan Baker earned a sixth place finish in the 100m dash as he notched a career-best time of 11.16.
- In the 1,500m run a trio of Hilltoppers finished inside of the top-10, led by Toohey who was third with a time of 4:08.27. Richardson added a career-best time of 4:24.56 for seventh place while Cermak crossed the line in a time of 4:29.09 for eighth place.
- Williams and Baker earned sixth and seventh place finishes in the 200m dash as they crossed the line in times of 22.88 and 22.94 respectively.
- Patrick Childers was the lone Hilltopper in the 5,000m run, crossing the finish line in a career-best time of 16:57.35 and 21st place.
HOW IT HAPPENED – WLU WOMEN'S TRACK & FIELD
- Lauren Wyatt notched a fifth place finish in the long jump with a mark of 4.58m (15-00.50).
- West Liberty posted a pair of top-10 finishes in the shot put, as Sierra Davis recorded a career-best mark of 10.94m (35-10.75) for fourth place while Kaylee Savage was eighth with a throw of 10.03 (32-11.00).
- The Hilltoppers went one-two in the discus throw as Davis posted a winning mark of 42.19m (138-05) while Adriana Fazzini was second with a career-best throw of 41.08m (134-09). Rounding out the top-10 in the event was Savage in ninth with a throw of 31.03m (101-09) and Catherine Neely in tenth with a mark of 30.85m (101-02).
- WLU added another trio of top-10 results, this time occurring in the hammer throw. Leading the way was Fazzini in fifth place with a career-best mark of 39.07m (128-02) while Davis was close behind in sixth with a throw of 38.98m (127-10). Rounding out the group was Savage with a ninth place mark of 36.23m (118-10).
- The 4x100 relay team of Ky'Ara Ross, Abbe Stackpole, Brookelyn Reynolds, and Sierra Lanham, ran to a season-best time of 48.96 for a second place finish, just 0.03 seconds off the winning time in the event.
- Lacey Dimit recorded a third place finish in the 800m run, crossing the line in a time of 2:27.18.
- Marissa Scott and Hope Gestl each posted top-10 times in the 100m hurdles, as Scott finished fourth with a career-best time of 15.95 and Gestl was seventh with a time of 16.72.
- Reynolds rounded out the top-5 in the 400m dash as she recorded a time of 1:03.30.
- Ross won the 100m dash with a career-best time of 12.38 while Lanham crossed the line fourth in a time of 12.57. Stackpole made it three Hilltoppers inside of the top-10 of the event as she posted a time of 12.73.
- Bailey Pack earned a seventh place finish in the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:18.96.
- Dimit notched a career-best time of 5:14.71 in the 1,500m run for a ninth place finish.
- Ross used a career-best time of 25.76 to win the 200m dash while Lanham completed the one-two finish as she crossed the line in a time of 25.94. Reynolds added a career-best time of 26.66 for eighth place while Stackpole was ninth with a time of 26.67 in the event.
- Morgan Lesnansky finished third in the 5,000m run with a career-best time of 18:53.65 and was the highest finishing DII athlete in the event. Ally Hicks and Emma Flynn finished just outside of the top-10 with career-best times of 20:12.25 and 20:22.10 for 11th and 12th place finishes respectively.

The West Liberty men's and women's track & field teams will be in action in two different locations next weekend at the Bison Outdoor Classic from Friday till Sunday (April 12-14) in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, and the Cherry Blossom Invitational on Saturday (April 13) in Athens, Ohio.
