Morgantown, W.Va. – Competing at both the Mountaineer Twilight, hosted by West Virginia, and the Jesse Owens Classic, hosted by Ohio State, the West Liberty University men's and women's track & field teams combined to win ten events while also recording 35 top-5 finishes, and 57 top-10 finishes during Saturday afternoon. Winning events for the Hilltopper men's team in Morgantown were
Reese Burnside who was unattached in the pole vault,
Quinn Ashbrooke in the triple jump, and
Lorenzo Ferrera in the 100m dash. On the women's side five individuals notched a win, including
Kennedy Martin in the shot put and discus throw,
Zayne Brakeall in the pole vault,
Ky'Ara Ross in the long jump,
Sierra Lanham in the 100m dash, and
Lacey Dimit in the 800m run. Additionally, the women's 4x100 relay team secured a win at the Mylan Park Track & Field Complex.

HOW IT HAPPENED – WLU MEN'S TRACK & FIELD (JESSE OWENS CLASSIC)
- Mikhi Anderson posted a season-best time of 14.31 for fourth in the prelims of the 110m hurdles to qualify for the finals of the event, however he would not record a time in the finals heat due to a DQ.
- Arthur Williams turned in a time of 52.98 in the 400m dash for a 38th place finish.
- In the 800m run, Tavian Richardson notched a time of 1:56.72 for 23rd place.
HOW IT HAPPENED – WLU MEN'S TRACK & FIELD (MOUNTAINEER TWILIGHT)
- Joshua Fancher and Aidan Horan posted a pair of top-10 throws in the discus with marks of 40.35 (132' 5") and 36.24m (118' 11") for fourth and sixth respectively. Horan's throw in the event marked a new career-best.
- Fancher notched his second top-5 finish of the day with a toss of 15.01m (49' 3") for second place in the shot put. Also recording top-10 finishes in the event was Horan with a mark of 12.22m (40' 1") and Cody Bolyard with a throw of 10.50m (34' 5.5") for seventh and tenth place respectively.
- Competing unattached, Reese Burnside won the pole vault competition as he cleared 4.58m (15' 0.25"). Rounding out the event's top-5 was Julius Hobbs with a mark of 3.60m (11' 9.75").
- WLU saw four athletes finish inside the top-10 of the long jump, led by Brijaun Baylor with a second place mark of 6.60m (21' 7.75"). Quinn Ashbrooke notched a third place finish with a jump of 6.56m (21' 6.25") and Daminn Cunningham was fourth with a mark of 6.52m (21' 4.75"). Rounding out the group of Hilltoppers was AJ Cherico in eighth place as he recorded a jump of 5.83m (19' 1.5").
- Cunningham notched a third place finish in the high jump as he cleared 1.91m (6' 3.25").
- Hobbs and Horan posted top-10 finishes in the javelin, throwing 35.82m (117' 6") and 33.24m (109' 1") for sixth and ninth respectively. Hobbs' throw in the event marked a new career-best.
- West Liberty took four of the top-5 spots in the triple jump, led by Ashbrooke who won the event with a career-best jump of 13.41m (44' 0"). Rounding out the top-5 was Baylor in third with a career-best mark of 13.08m (42' 11"), Cunningham in fourth with a mark of 12.67m (41' 6.75"), and Cherico in fifth with a mark of 11.52m (37' 9.5").
- Rounding out the top-10 of the 110m hurdles were Jacob Huffman and Malachi Stewart with times of 18.70 and 19.32 for ninth and tenth place respectively. Stewart's time was a new career-best in the event.
- Brody Cermak was the highest finishing Hilltopper in the 400m dash as he recorded a career-best time of 55.02 for 17th place.
- Lorenzo Ferrera won the 100m dash with a time of 10.98 while Nathan Baker added a top-5 finish in the event as he clocked a career-best time of 11.16.
- In the 800m run, Jasper Brown crossed the line in a time of 2:03.66 for third place.
- In the 5,000m run, Cermak recorded a time of 16:23.17 for eighth place.
- Francis Toohey notched a third place finish in the 800m run, crossing the line in a time of 1:56.66.
HOW IT HAPPENED – WLU WOMEN'S TRACK & FIELD (MOUNTAINEER TWILIGHT)
- West Liberty posted three of the top-5 marks in the shot put, led by Kennedy Martin who won the event with a throw of 12.10m (39' 8.5"). Rounding out the top-5 was Kaylee Savage and Sierra Davis in fourth and fifth with throws of 10.70m and 10.45m respectively.
- The Hilltoppers swept the top-3 of the discus as Martin won her second event of the day with a career-best mark of 44.35m (145' 6") to lead the trio. Davis was second with a throw of 39.11m (128' 4") while Adriana Fazzini was third with a distance of 38.78m (127' 3"). Also securing a top-10 finish in the event was Savage who was seventh with a throw of 30.97m (101' 7").
- Zayne Brakeall notched a win in the pole vault, clearing a career-best mark of 2.45m (8' 0.5") to lead three Hilltoppers in the event's top-5. Marissa Scott recorded a mark of 2.30m (7' 6.5") for third place while Lauren Wyatt cleared a career-best height 2.15m (7' 0.75") for fifth place.
- Ky'Ara Ross and Sierra Lanham went one-two in the long jump, posting marks of 5.55m (18' 2.5") and 5.43m (17' 9.75") respectively. Also recorded a top-10 finish was Wyatt who jumped 4.77m (15' 7.75") for ninth place.
- Brakeall recorded a sixth place finish in the high jump, clearing a career-best mark of 1.50m (4' 11").
- Fazzini led a trio of Hilltoppers inside the top-10 of the javelin, recorded a sixth place finish with a career-best throw of 28.06m (92' 1"). Davis and Savage notched marks of 25.00m (82' 0") and 18.46m (60' 7") for seventh and tenth respectively. Davis's throw set a new career-best mark in the event.
- The 4x100 relay team of Ross, Abbe Stackpole, Madison Cadle, and Lanham recorded a winning time of 48.41 for first in the event.
- Emma Flynn notched a top-10 finish in the 1,500m run, posting a seventh place time of 5:48.31.
- Scott secured a third place finish in the 100m hurdles as she crossed the finish line in a career-best time of 15.86.
- Brookelyn Reynolds collected a top-10 finish in the 400m dash as she posted a time of 1:02.07 for sixth place.
- Lanham and Ross added a second one-two finish on the day, this time in the 100m dash as Lanham won the event by matching her own career-best and school-record time of 12.34 while Ross was just 0.01 seconds behind with a second place and career-best time of 12.35. Rounding out the top-5 was Stackpole who clocked a time of 12.72.
- Lacey Dimit collected a first place finish in the 800m run as she posted a career-best and winning time of 2:21.66.
- In the 400m hurdles, Bailey Pack recorded a top-10 finish with a time of 1:16.94 for sixth place.
- Lanham led a trio of Hilltoppers in the top-10 of the 200m dash, finishing second with a time of 25.98. Rounding out the top-10 was Stackpole and Ross with times of 27.03 and 27.11 for ninth and tenth place respectively.
- Ally Hicks recorded a top-5 finish in the 3,000m steeplechase as she ran to a time of 12:48.32 for fourth place.
- Morgan Lesnansky secured a seventh place finish in the 1,500m run, recording a career-best time of 5:07.19.
