The West Liberty University track & field teams got the weekend started with the throwers competing at both the Stan Romanoski Open, hosted by West Virginia University, and the Amy Adams Memorial Invitational, hosted by Muskingum University. As the athletes competed in the hammer throw

Joshua Fancher posted a pair of top-10 finishes for the men, while
Grace Brockmeier led the way with a career-best mark for the women.

HOW IT HAPPENED – WLU MEN'S TRACK & FIELD AT STAN ROMANOSKI OPEN
- John Brown and Joshua Fancher posted a pair of top-10 finishes in the hammer throw for West Liberty, recording marks of 47.29m and 43.79 respectively for fifth and seventh place.
- Also competing for the Hilltoppers on day one was Aidan Horan and Cody Bolyard, who recorded season-best throws of 35.80m and 30.44m respectively in the hammer throw for 20th and 28th place.
HOW IT HAPPENED – WLU WOMEN'S TRACK & FIELD AT AMY ADAMS MEMORIAL INVITATIONAL
- Grace Brockmeier was the highest placing finisher in the hammer throw for West Liberty, posting a career-best mark of 35.30m (115' 10") for 25th place.
- Also competing for the Hilltoppers were Haley Norris, Catherine Neely, and Leah Delaney, who recorded marks of 34.39m (112' 10"), 32.30m (106' 0"), and 28.70m (94' 2") respectively. Norris finished in 28th place while Neely was 32nd, and Delaney was 38th in the event during the first day of competition this weekend.Â

West Liberty will be continuing this weekend's action at the Stan Romanoski Open (West Virginia) and Amy Adams Memorial Invitational (Muskingum) tomorrow morning. Field events will begin at 10 a.m. at the Mylan Park Track and Field Complex in Morgantown while the competition starts at 11 a.m. at the Johnson Family Track in New Concord, Ohio.
