West Liberty, W.Va. - The West Liberty University women's basketball team made it four wins in their last five games with a 93-60 victory over Davis & Elkins Saturday in Mountain East Conference play at the ASRC.
West Liberty (4-5, 2-1) started strong and led 23-11 over the Senators after the first quarter, Jenna Riccardo (11) and Bailee Smith (9) accounted for 20 of the Toppers opening quarter points.
In the second the Toppers would lead by as many as 22 at 40-18 with 1:19 left before the half and they took a 40-22 lead into the locker room.
WLU came out in the third quarter and extended their lead to 27 at 58-31 at the 3:58 mark and led 64-45 after three.
Late in the fourth the Toppers would grow their lead to as many as 35 at 93-58. West Liberty finished the game with 24 assists on their 30 made field goals.
Six Hilltoppers finished in double-figures led by Jenna Riccardo and her 22 points. Bailee Smith had 19 points with five-threes. Karli Anker had 16 points, Olivia Baker 13 points. Anna Lucarelli had a double-double with 12 points and a game-high 12 rebounds, she also had five assists.
As a team WLU had 15-threes in the game.
Up next for the Hilltoppers they will host Charleston Wednesday at 5;30 p.m at the ASRC.
