West Liberty, W.Va. - The No.4 West Liberty University men's basketball team improved to 8-0 overall and 3-0 in the Mountain East Conference Saturday night thanks to their 107-93 win over Davis & Elkins.
The Hilltoppers finished the game shooting 54 percent from the floor overall and 53 percent from three.
The Senators stayed with the Toppers in the opening half with a strong shooting percentage of their own 61 percent. WLU led 49-47 at the half.
West Liberty opened the second half on a 15-6 run to push their lead out to 64-53 with 16:05 remaining. The Topper advantage would grow to as many as 19 in the second half.
Dante Spadafora led all scorers with 23 points, he was 5-6 from three. Kameron Tinsley added 20 points for the Toppers, he too was 5-6 from three. Kyler D'Augustino had 19 points while Lanyc Shuler and Daniel Autrey each had ten.
As a team the Hilltoppers knocked down 18 - threes in the game.
Up next the Toppers will welcome Charleston to the ASRC Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.
