Youngstown, Ohio - The West Liberty University men's and women's track and field teams opened their indoor season Friday at the YSU Icebreaker. 

The Hilltoppers Ky'Ara Ross had quite the start to her season, the reigning Mountain East Conference outdoor freshman of the year took first in the long jump with a top leap of 5.92 m. 

She had the fifth fastest time in the 200m at 25.16, fellow Topper Sierra Lanham was ninth with a time of 25.72

On the men's side Lorenzo Ferrera was fifth in the 60m at 6.88 and Hunter Patterson was sixth at 6.90. Lorenzo Ferrera also had the ninth fastest time in the 200m at 22.20. 

Dorde Donovic was sixth in the high jump at 1.91m, Jamal Mounchivedi was ninth at 1.86m. 

A pair of Toppers had top 15 finishes in the women's 5000m Lacey Dimit was 11th at 18:21.25 and Morgan Lesnansky was 15th at 18:49.16. 

Brijaun Baylor had the 14th best performance in the long jump at 6.56m. 

The Hilltoppers will compete in the Toy Drive Invite Saturday at Mount Union. 

Due to winter weather in Erie County, the Mike Kowal Multi scheduled for Saturday and Sunday has been canceled.
