West Liberty, W.Va. – History was made at the ASRC on Sunday as the West Liberty University women's wrestling team claimed their first-ever home dual victory, defeating Hiram College 40-17. The win propels the Hilltoppers to an impressive 9-2 record in duals this season.

Cynthia Pyatt at 124 lbs., dominated her opponent Jaelyn Collins with an 11-0 tech fall. The win improved Pyatt's season record to 7-5.

At 160 lbs., Nia Miranda, the nation's No. 6 ranked wrestler in her weight class, showcased her elite skills with a flawless 10-0 tech fall victory over Allydia Byard, keeping her undefeated streak intact.

Jamie Shapton closed out the dual in style, pinning Kayla Mena in just 1:54. The victory marked Shapton's sixth dual win of the season.

Fans can catch the Hilltopper women back in action on January 12 at the Hilltopper Open, where they will once again take to the home mat.
