Institute, W.Va. - The West Liberty University women's basketball team picked up a hard fought 80-78 road win Saturday at West Virginia State.
Karli Anker had a double-double , with a game-high 23 points including six-three's and 11 rebounds to help pace the Toppers attack.
Bailee Smith added 19 points, with five-three pointers. Smith hit a half court buzzer beater to give WLU a 36-34 lead at the half. Jenna Riccardo had 14 points and seven rebounds.
Trailing 78-77 with nine seconds remaining when Halley Smith put the Toppers up 79-78 with a layup.
With the win West Liberty improves to 5-6 overall and 3-2 in the Mountain East Conference. They visit Tiffin Dec.20.
