West Liberty, W.Va. - The No.4 West Liberty University men's basketball team plays their final home game of 2024 Wednesday against the University of Charleston at 7:30 p.m. at the ASRC.
The Toppers improved to 8-0 overall and 3-0 in Mountain East Conference Saturday thanks to their 107-93 win over Davis & Elkins. The Hilltoppers finished the game shooting 54 percent from the floor overall and 53 percent from three. Dante Spadafora led all scorers with 23 points, he was 5-6 from three. Kameron Tinsley added 20 points, he too was 5-6 from three.
West Liberty is 53-63 all-time against UC, the Toppers lost both meetings last season.
The Toppers are 165-8 in their last 173 home conference games, dating all the way back to the 2007-08 season.
Ben Howlett is closing in on 200 career wins, with Saturday's win he now has 195 career victories. Howlett has a 195-32 career mark with an .859 winning percentage.
West Liberty is averaging 97.4 ppg. and is shooting 47 % from the floor, 30 % on three-point attempts and 72 % from the free throw line.
WLU leads the MEC in forced turnovers 19.5 per game, assist to turnover ratio 1.83, and assists per game 21.75.
