West Liberty, W.Va. - The West Liberty University women's volleyball team pulled out a thrilling five set win over Faimont Senior Thursday night at the ASRC.
West Liberty dropped a hard fought opening set 30-28 to the Falcons. In the second set they jumped out to a 5-0 lead and they would enjoy a 15-5 lead on their way to a 25-21 win.
They would take the third set 25-19, but FSU won the fourth 25-16 to force the fifth set.
In the final set WLU would take a 10-6 lead but then see the Falcons go on a 6-0 run to take a 12-10 lead. A timeout from head coach Makenzy Johnson would help things for the Toppers and they would close the match on a 6-2 run to win 16-14.
The Hilltoppers have now won 12 of their last 15, improving to 15-12 overall and 9-3 in the MEC.
