Frostburg,Md. - The West Liberty University women's volleyball team fell in five sets Monday night at Frostburg State ending their chances at claiming a share of the Mountain East Conference north division title.
The Bobcats won the opening set 25-18. The second set was a back and forth battle that the Hilltoppers trailed in 24-22, before tying the game at 25, back to back attack errors would give FSU the set 27-25.
Down two sets to none the Toppers would hold off Frostburg in the third set and win 25-23. Trailing 19-18 in the fourth set, WLU would close on a 6-1 run to take it, 25-20.
In the fifth set West Liberty's only lead was 1-0, the Bobcats largest lead was three including the final score 15-12.
With the loss the Hilltoppers slip to 15-13 overall and 9-4 in the Mountain East Conference. The Hilltoppers will close the regular season Friday when they host Wheeling at the ASRC at 7 p.m.
Kyia White led West Liberty with 11 kills and 17 digs, Dakoda Keni and Haley Zeck each had 21 assists. Bella Dart had 18 digs.
