West Liberty, W.Va. - The No. 17 West Liberty University men's basketball team improved to 3-0 Saturday night with a 92-72 win over Shepherd University at the ASRC.
The Hilltoppers struggled from three-point land in the opening half going just 1-15, but they still enjoyed a 41-35 lead at the break.
The Rams would never lead in the game and in the second half WLU would grow their lead out to as many as 20. The second half also saw them knock down six more threes.
West Liberty was good with the ball also only turning it over three times and forcing the Rams into 17.
The Toppers also had 19 assists on their 36 made field goals.
WLU had five players finish in double figures once again led by Kyler D'Augustino and his 19. JJ Harper had 18 points and seven rebounds, Finley Woodward finished with 16 points, five rebounds and four assists. Dante Spadafora and Kameron Tinsley each had 11 points.
It's a short turnaround for Ben Howlett's team as they host Virginia Union Monday at 7:30 p.m. at the ASRC.
