West Liberty, W.Va. – The West Liberty University (WLU) Hilltoppers softball team is gearing up for an action-packed 2025 season as they release their schedule. Led by Head Coach Sara Pelegreen in her second season, the Hilltoppers will face off against a diverse lineup of opponents across the Eastern United States, testing their grit and skill as they aim for success in the Mountain East Conference (MEC).

The season opens on February 13 in Greensburg, Pennsylvania, with an away game against Seton Hill University. The team then heads to the Highlands Sports Complex on February 14 to face the University of Indianapolis. Coach Pelegreen's squad will travel frequently in February, playing a stretch of games in Hickory, North Carolina, where they'll compete against Assumption University, Augusta University, Lenoir-Rhyne University, and Young Harris College at the Lenoir-Rhyne Invitational.

In March, the Hilltoppers will make their way to Florida for a spring break tour, squaring off against powerhouse teams like the University of Tampa, Eckerd College, and St. Leo University. This tour will provide valuable experience against strong competition and warm-weather training before returning to West Virginia.

March also includes key home games at The Bridge Sports Complex, with a series of doubleheaders against teams such as Lincoln University, Indiana University of PA, and Bluefield State University. As the season progresses, WLU will begin their conference schedule, hosting notable rivals like West Virginia State on March 22 and the University of Charleston on March 23 at their home field in West Liberty.

The Hilltoppers will also celebrate Lil Sis Appreciation Day on March 29 during their home game against Frostburg State University. Another special day on the calendar, Senior Day, is set for April 12 when WLU hosts Davis & Elkins College, honoring the contributions of their senior players.

Throughout April, the Hilltoppers will hit the road to face regional opponents and fellow MEC members, such as Glenville State University, Concord University, Fairmont State University, and Frostburg State University. The season concludes with the much-anticipated MEC Tournament, scheduled for April 30 in Salem, Virginia, where the Hilltoppers hope to showcase their progress and secure a strong postseason performance.

With Coach Pelegreen's leadership, the WLU softball program is poised for a thrilling season of growth, competition, and camaraderie.
