West Liberty, W.Va. - West Liberty University redshirt junior defensive lineman Delano Marcelus has been the Mountain East Conference football special teams player of the week presented by the Health Plan. 

In the Toppers win over Concord Delano Marcelus affected the game in several ways, he finished the day with three tackles, one sack and one forced fumble. His biggest play of the game however came in the third quarter when on special teams he blocked a Concord punt and recovered it to set up a West Liberty scoring drive. 

West Liberty head football coach Roger Waiaiae said he wasn't surprised by the play; he says,

 "Delano doesn't take any plays off."  Coach Waialae added they were actually in a "safe" punt return set when he made the play. 

The Hilltoppers return to action this Saturday when they visit UNC-Pembroke. West Liberty returns home on Oct.19 to host West Virginia Wesleyan for homecoming.
