West Liberty, W.Va. – The West Liberty University volleyball team is excited to welcome five new members to the hilltop as Olivia Beldean, Jillian Huffman, Teagan Ng, Kendall Smith, and Kyia White put pens to paper and made their commitments official on National Signing Day yesterday. "I am so excited to welcome these five into the WLUVB family," stated fourth year head coach Riley Jarrett. "This class of 2024 brings a ton of versatility, athleticism, and competitive energy. These five young women will bring so much to our program on and off the court as student-athletes. They are great volleyball players and great people and will help our vision of WLUVB to continue to get to the next level."
 
Olivia Beldean | 5-10 | Setter/Right Side Hitter | Wadsworth, Ohio | Wadsworth High School | ClevPrime
Beldean is a 5-10 setter/right side hitter out of Wadsworth, Ohio, and Wadsworth High School. She is a 2-time All-Suburban League selection for the Grizzlies and was picked as a Prep Dig Player to Watch and Prep Dig Player of the Tournament honoree. She now plays for the ClevPrime club volleyball team. She is the daughter of Eugene and Ellen Beldean and plans to pursue a degree in dental hygiene.

Jillian Huffman | 5-10 | Setter/Right Side Hitter | West Liberty, W.Va. | Wheeling Park High School | Ohio Valley Volleyball Company
Huffman is a 5-10 setter/right side hitter out of West Liberty, West Virginia, and Wheeling Park High School. She totaled over 1,800 assists and 130 blocks over her career and nearly 500 digs for the Patriots. She was a First Team All-OVAC pick and was selected to play in the OVAC All-Star Volleyball Game. Outside of volleyball she was a 4-year varsity letter winner in basketball and 3-year letter winner in track. As a member of the basketball program at WPHS the Patriots were state runners-up in her junior season and as a track high jumper she placed fifth as a junior in the state meet. She plays for the Ohio Valley Volleyball Company club volleyball team and has earned AAU Academic All-American honors. She is the daughter of Aaron and Courtney Huffman and plans to pursue a degree in education.

"Jillian is someone I have watched grow up and develop as a volleyball player and as a person. Her roots to West Liberty run deep. She is a local talent that we are excited to have as a part of the WLUVB family."

Teagan Ng | 5-11 | Outside Hitter/Defensive Specialist | Sunbury, Ohio | Big Walnut High School | MOVA 18M
Ng is a 5-11 outside hitter/defensive specialist out of Sunbury, Ohio, and Big Walnut High School. She was a 4-year varsity letter winner for the Golden Eagles and was a 2-time First Team All-OCC (Ohio Capital Conference) and First Team All-District selection in her junior and senior seasons. A member of the MOVA 18M club volleyball team, Ng was named to the 2022 JVA Watchlist. She was also part of the Mintonette volleyball club that won the 15s AAU National Championship. She is a 4-year scholar athlete and 3-year recipient of academic honors. She is the daughter of Robert and Amy Ng and plans to pursue a degree in exercise physiology.

"Teagan has the potential to be a difference maker for us as soon as she steps on campus. She comes from high levels of playing backgrounds and I can't wait to see her in a Topper uniform to help us reach our goals as a program."

Kendall Smith | 5-9 | Libero/Defensive Specialist | Bloomfield Hills, Mich. | Notre Dame Prep | Legacy 18-2 Adidas
Smith is a 5-9 libero/defensive specialist out of Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, and Notre Dame Prep. She was a 4-year varsity member for the Fighting Irish, helping lead the program to a MHSAA Division II State Championship in 2021. Along with the state title, Smith was a part of the program's success in winning three district championships and two regional championships. Outside of high school volleyball she plays for the Legacy 18-2 Adidas club volleyball team. She is a 4-time Academic All-State selection from 2020-23 and received the highest honors her senior year. She is the daughter of David and Heather Smith and plans to pursue a degree in criminal justice.

"Kendall is a great back court player in all 3 positions. She comes from a very prominent high school program.  We are excited to get her strong fundamentals and high volleyball IQ in our gym."

Kyia White | 5-9 | Outside Hitter/Defensive Specialist | East Liverpool, Ohio | East Liverpool High School | Infinity Volleyball Club
White is a 5-9 outside hitter/defensive specialist out of East Liverpool, Ohio, and East Liverpool High School. A highly decorated 4-year letter winner for the Potters, her list of accolades includes but is not limited to being named 2-time All-OVAC First Team, 2-time All-YSN First Team, and All-Ohio Third Team. She began her high school career with being named the Rookie of the Year and went on to earn OVAC Player of the Year as she led ELHS to the 2022 OVAC Championship. At the club volleyball level her team, the Infinity Volleyball Club, has also had success as they have won the Pittsburgh Open Championship and was a national qualifier in the MEQ Liberty Championships. She is the daughter of Benjamin and Stephanie White, and she is undecided on an intended major.
