BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – The Mountain East Conference has announced the qualifiers for Saturday's 2022 Acrobatics & Tumbling Individual Event Finals, which will be held in conjunction with this weekend's MEC Acrobatics & Tumbling Championships at Fairmont State.
    Coach Kelsey Kyle's West Liberty squad, which finished the regular season tied for second place in the MEC standings, qualified to compete for individual event championships in 12 of the 15 finals. The Hilltoppers' Mareena Scalia is the defending MEC champion in the Aerial Pass for Tumbling. West Liberty also won individual event titles in 7-Element Acro and Inverted Pyramid.
    The qualifiers for the event finals were selected based on the top three regular season scores posted by an MEC team in each heat during the acro, pyramid, toss and tumbling events. Only scores recorded in conference meets were eligible for consideration. Action gets under way at 11 a.m. Saturday on the mats at Joe Retton Arena.

Wesleyan and Frostburg State will meet in the 5 p.m. semifinal with the Hilltoppers taking on top-seeded defending champion Fairmont State in the 7 p.m. match. The MEC championship match is set for 3 p.m. Saturday.
    Championship tickets are now available online, priced at $10 for adults and $5 for youth ages 13-18 with free admission for children aged 12 and under. Students from MEC institutions will also be admitted free with a valid student ID. Tickets will be available at the gate but fans are strongly encouraged to purchase tickets in advance at the following link: MEC Championship Tickets
