Box Score 1     MASON, Ohio – The West Liberty University baseball team closed out a weekend non-conference series against Pitt-Johnstown here Sunday with a pair of 5-2 losses at Prasco Park.
    In the opener, the Hilltoppers' Logan Grimm hurled seven scoreless innings but couldn't get the win as the UPJ mound staff matched him zero for zero, sending the game into extra innings.
    The Mountain Cats (6-3) took advantage of some shaky WLU fielding to push five unearned runs across the plate and break the game open in the top of the eighth. West Liberty scratched out a pair of runs in the bottom of the frame but couldn't get over the hump.
    Grimm was saddled with the hard-luck loss, despite holding UPJ to just two hits and two unearned runs over the first 7 2/3 innings. He finished with 8 strikeouts and didn't walk a batter.
    Three Pitt-Johnstown hurlers combined for 8 strikeouts and 2 walks while holding West Liberty to just two singles through 8 innings. Jarrett Delbrugge had an RBI single in the bottom of the eighth.
    In the second game. WLU starter Ian Brady held UPJ to just one run over the first five innings but the Mountain Cats once again took advantage of some shaky Hilltopper defense to put three more on the board in the top of the sixth.
    West Liberty cut the lead in half with a pair of runs in the bottom of the frame but Pitt-Johnstown added an insurance tally in the seventh and UPJ reliever Grayson Hall struck out the side in the seventh to earn the save.
    Ryan Talberty had a pair of doubles while Brad Goodyear smacked out a double and a single for the Black and Gold. Ferguson added two more singles and drove in a run.
