WHEELING, W.Va. – Top-seeded and No. 2-ranked West Liberty will be seeking its 15th straight win and third Mountain East Conference Tournament title today when the Black and Gold take on No. 3 seed Charleston. Tipoff for the ninth MEC Tournament championship game is set for 5 p.m. at WesBanco Arena.

Ben Howlett's Hilltoppers (28-2) shot nearly 60 percent from the floor on Saturday and hammered No. 23 Fairmont State, 117-96, in a semifinal blowout. Pat Robinson scored 27 points and
Will Yoakum added 25 to pace six double-figure scorers.
The Golden Eagles (24-6) eliminated Alderson-Broaddus, 69-57, in the other semifinal. Lamont McManus scored 12 of UC's last 14 points to finish with a game-high 23 lightings.
The winner of tonight's game earns the Mountain East Conference's automatic bid to next week's NCAA Division II Atlantic Region Tournament. Regional pairings and sites will be announced live at 10:30 p.m. tonight during the NCAA Division II Selection Show on the NCAA website.
