Box Score 1 | Box Score 2     ATHENS, W.Va. – The West Liberty University baseball team continued its recent resurgence here Tuesday by sweeping a Mountain East Conference doubleheader from Concord at Anderson Field.
    Coach Eric Burkle's Hilltoppers (5-6, 3-1) blanked the winless Mountain Lions (0-7, 0-4) by a 5-0 tally in the first game and followed that up with a 6-2 win in the finale to complete the sweep. The Black and Gold have won five of their last six games.
    Ian Brady hurled a complete-game five-hitter to spark the Hilltoppers in the opener. Brady fanned nine Concord batters and walked only two while scattering five harmless singles.
    Colton Coss drove in two runs with a double and a single while Kaden Blomquist also doubled, singled and drove in a run. Ty Helmke had a multi-hit game with a single and double while Chad Matthus added an RBI single.
    In the second game, West Liberty carried a 3-1 lead into the top of the sixth when Isaac Rine broke things open with a two-out, three-run home run over the left field wall.
    Coss had two more hits for the Black and Gold while Helmke doubled and drove in a pair of runs. Matthus and Brian Campbell also smacked out two-baggers.
    Logan Grimm hurled 6 1/3 strong innings to get the win, striking out six and walking five. Gaetan Sinisgalli came on in relief with two on and one out in the bottom of the seventh and induced a game-ending double play with his first pitch.
