FAIRMONT, W.Va. – The surging West Liberty University women's tennis team rolled to its fourth straight shutout win here Monday, handing Fairmont State a 7-0 setback at the FSU Tennis Courts.
The Falcons (2-2, 1-1) made things interesting at the start with a 6-3 win at No. 1 doubles but reigning MEC Player of the Week
Nathalia Valencia teamed up with
Alexandra Olson for a 6-0 nod in the No. 3 doubles slot and the No. 2 doubles pairing of
Luisa Agudelo and Jacqueline Pena Aceves pulled out a 6-4 win to give WLU the doubles point.
It was all West Liberty (5-1, 2-0) in singles play as all six Hilltoppers breezed to straight set wins to finish off the shutout.
The Black and Gold step out of conference play on Saturday afternoon with a trip to Cedarville (Ohio). First serve is set for 2 p.m.
