FROSTBURG, Md. – The West Liberty University women's tennis team drove all the way to Maryland on Saturday to spoil Frostburg State's season debut with a 7-0 shutout in a Mountain East Conference match at the Cordts Tennis Complex.
Coach
Heather Gallagher's Hilltoppers (4-1, 1-0) took charge early, sweeping all three doubles matches without losing a single game to take the doubles point.
The song remained the same when singles play got under way with the six West Liberty women –
Gemma Cliffe,
Nathalia Valencia,
Ishika Agarwal,
Luisa Agudelo, Jacqueline Pena Aceves and Alex Olson – posting straight set wins to complete the romp.
It's a short turnaround for the Lady Hilltoppers as they head right back out on the road Monday for a 3 p.m. match at Fairmont State.
