WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. – The West Liberty University volleyball team finished off a season sweep of Alderson Broaddus in impressive style here Tuesday night, sweeping the Battlers in straight sets inside the ASRC.
Coach
Riley Schenk's Hilltoppers (5-2) dominated the first two sets and fought off a late challenge from the Battlers (2-5) in the third to complete the 3-0 sweep by scores of 25-14, 25-17 and 27-25.
Sophomores
Nina Billotto and
Kirsten Bogunovich led the way for the hosts. Billotto had a strong game at the net with 11 kills at a .450 hitting percentage while also picking up a couple of blocks. Bogunovich made yet another run at a triple double with a match-high 21 assists to go along with 9 kills and 8 digs.
Emily Reedy added 7 kills and 11 digs with
Madison Clayton contributing 7 kills, 3 service aces, 6 digs and a pair of blocks. Freshman
Nyia Setla finished with a team-high 21 digs.
The West Liberty women will be back on the ASRC boards Friday night when they host Frostburg State in another Mountain East Conference North Division match. First serve is set for 7 p.m.
