Box Score 1 | Box Score 2     JOHNSTOWN, Pa. – The West Liberty University baseball team dropped a non-conference doubleheader to Pitt-Johnstown on a sunny Sunday afternoon at Point Stadium.
    Coach Eric Burkle's Hilltoppers (4-10), who had swept a twinbill from the Mountain Cats (10-5) on Saturday, settled for a split of the weekend series on Sunday as UPJ prevailed by scores of 5-0 and 7-1.
    In the opener, Isaiah Kearns pitched and batted the hosts to victory, firing a 3-hit shutout and helping his own cause with a single and a solo home run. Jared Houser doubled and singled to account for two of West Liberty's three hits.
    The Hilltoppers jumped out to a quick lead in the second game with Tyler Ramsay roping an RBI triple in the top of the first. West Liberty went on to bash out eight more hits but couldn't bunch enough of them together to dent the plate again.
    Pitt-Johnstown broke the game open in the bottom of the third inning, batting around to put six runs on the board and open up a 6-1 lead. The Mountain Cats added an insurance tally in the sixth to complete the scoring.
    Houser had another solid game at the plate for the Black and Gold, stroking out two more singles, while Jason Schutte also had a pair of base knocks.
