WLU's Ojo Couldn't Pass Up Opportunity (Video)

Football | 8/21/2019 9:55:00 AM

WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. – A combined commitment to academics and athletics created a perfect opportunity for All-Region cornerback Josh Ojo as the West Liberty University standout heads into his final season on the hilltop.
The 5-10, 180-pounder from Stephens City, Va. led the Mountain East Conference and ranked among the NCAA Division II leaders a year ago with seven interceptions – returning two of them for touchdowns. He also led the team with 9 pass break-ups and had 32 tackles – 30 of them solo hits – along with a pair of tackles-for-loss.
The first-team All-MEC and All-Region defensive back is also an excellent student. Ojo graduated in the spring but elected to remain on campus in order to begin working toward his master's degree while playing his final season of college football.
Ojo spoke with Todd Ullom, the voice of the Hilltoppers, earlier this week about choosing to stay on the hilltop to pursue his MBA, reuniting with his long-time teammates in the veteran-laden West Liberty secondary and dealing with the heat of August during preseason camp.
