BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. -- The seedings and pairings for the 2019 Mountain East Conference Tournament presented by The HealthPlan have been finalized and the West Liberty women will be playing in the 8:15 p.m. quarterfinal on Thursday night.
Coach
Kyle Cooper's regionally-ranked Lady Hilltoppers (20-8) are the No. 4 seed after picking up their 20
th win Saturday afternoon at Wheeling Jesuit. They will take on No. 5 seed Notre Dame (15-13) in the last of four quarterfinal contests on Thursday at the downtown arena.
Nationally-ranked Glenville State claimed the regular season title and is the top seed for this year's tournament for the third-straight year. The No. 20 Pioneers are seeking their third MEC Tournament title and second in as many years.
Charleston is the No. 2 seed, while Concord won the tiebreaker with WLU to take the No. 3 seed with Notre Dame (5th) and UVa-Wise (6th) claiming the remaining first round byes.
Fairmont State is seeded seventh and will face 10th-seeded West Virginia Wesleyan in the opening round on Thursday. Shepherd (8th) will take on W.Va. State (9th) in the other first round matchup.
