WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. – It's a busy Saturday afternoon on the hilltop as the West Liberty University football closes out the season at home against the University of Charleston. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. on Senior Day and Hall of Fame Day at West Family Stadium.
Coach Roger Waialae and his Hilltopper coaching staff will honor their 14-man senior class prior to the contest while the six newest members of the WLU Hall of Fame will be presented with their commemorative plaques during halftime festivities.
West Liberty (5-5, 4-5) will be trying to put a winning record in the books for 2019 after getting back to the .500 mark a week ago with a thrilling, 23-20, come-from-behind win at West Virginia Wesleyan. The high-powered Golden Eagles (7-3, 6-3) ride a three-game winning streak into town after dismantling Concord, 41-14, a week ago.
This is the 32nd meeting between the two programs since the series kicked off in 1927 and it's the 15th time the teams have met on the gridiron since the UC restarted the old Morris Harvey football program during the 2003 season. The Golden Eagles hold a slim 16-14-1 advantage in the all-time series.
