GLENVILLE, W.Va. - The West Liberty University volleyball team clinched a spot in next week's Mountain East Conference Tournament here Friday night with a 3-0 sweep of Glenville State at the Waco Center.
Coach
Kayla Mull's Hilltoppers (16-14, 8-7) came from behind to pull out a 26-24 win in the opening set and took control with a 25-19 verdict in the second set before wrapping things up in style with a 25-9 victory in the final set.
Madison Clayton had 9 kills and 3 blocks while
Caitlin Clarke added 9 kills and 7 digs for the Black and Gold.
Mackenzie Sims chimed in with 7 kills and 9 digs while
Kendall Souder and
Renee Lemke collecting 17 and 13 assists, respectively.
Senior standout
Kailee Cunningham led all players with 22 digs.
The Hilltoppers close out the regular season at Concord on Saturday with a 9 a.m. match.
The 2019 MEC Tournament tips off Thursday at Wheeling's McDonough Center. Tournament pairings will be announced over the weekend.
