CIRCLEVILLE, Ohio – The West Liberty University volleyball team won its sixth and seventh consecutive matches here Saturday, sweeping Bob Jones (S.C.) University and host Ohio Christian University by identical 3-0 scores in a non-conference triangular.
Coach
Kayla Mull's Hilltoppers (15-3) handed Bob Jones (14-2) only its second loss of the year by scores of 25-19, 25-18 and 25-19 before powering past OCU (1-7) by scores of 25-12, 25-15 and 25-15.
In the opener against Bob Jones,
Caitlin Clarke had 10 kills while
Stephanie Leonard,
Raimey Benson and
Abbi Gillson all finished with 9 kills.
Madison Clayton added 8 kills and 3 blocks.
Renee Lemke had a team-high 26 assists while
Morgan Farley led WLU with 14 digs.
Clayton led the way against Ohio Christian with 7 kills, 5 blocks and 3 service aces. Lemke led all players with 17 assists and
Jo Lyn Jurek had a team-high 7 digs in a match that took less than an hour to complete.
The West Liberty women will try to add to their winning streak on Tuesday when they head to western Pennsylvania for a non-conference test against Pitt-Johnstown. First serve is set for 7 p.m.
