    HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. – The West Liberty University women's tennis team breezed to its third win in as many days at the Spring Tennis Fest Tuesday morning with a 9-0 whitewashing of Clarion (Pa.) at the Evian Tennis Center.
    Coach Heather Gallagher's Hilltoppers (11-4) wasted no time grabbing the upper hand against the Golden Eagles (3-3), losing a total of just five games in sweeping the three doubles matches.
    That dominance carried over into singles play as WLU completed the rout with six straight-set wins.
    Thais Mendez scored a 6-1 6-2 decision at No. 1 singles with Laura Huwe and Ana Berbel adding identical 6-1 6-1 victories at Nos. 2 and 3 singles, respectively.
    Kate Pinchuk prevailed by a 6-3 6-0 count at No. 4 singles and Alaina Pauley carded a 6-1 6-4 nod at No. 5 singles. Lisa Nachtwey finished things off with a flourish, posting a 6-0 6-0 victory at No. 6 singles.
