Lady Hilltoppers Breeze Past Battlers

PHILIPPI, W.Va. – The West Liberty University women's tennis team rolled to an 8-1 non-conference victory at Alderson-Broaddus on Sunday afternoon.
Coach Heather Gallagher's Hilltoppers (10-4) swept all three doubles matches to take control early against the host Battlers (1-7) before taking five of the six singles tilts to close out the win.
Raquel Cabero and Laura Huwe notched an 8-0 victory at No. 1 doubles while Kate Pinchuk and Andrea Puga duplicated the 8-0 shutout at No. 3 doubles. Alaina Pauley and Ana Berbel wrapped up the doubles segment with an 8-4 nod at No. 2 doubles.
Huwe, Berbel, Puga, Pauley and Pinchuk all posted straight-set victories in singles play to wrap up the victory.
The West Liberty women close out the home portion of their spring schedule on April 2 when they welcome Notre Dame (Ohio) to the Edgar Martin Tennis Complex.
