WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. – The West Liberty University women's tennis team breezed to a pair of Mountain East Conference wins on Saturday in back-to-back matches at the Edgar Martin Tennis Complex.
Coach Heather Gallagher's Hilltoppers (4-1, 3-0) opened with a 9-0 whitewashing of Concord (0-4, 0-4) in a morning match before handing UVA-Wise (4-5, 2-3) an 8-1 setback in the afternoon. West Liberty swept all six singles matches and the No. 1 and No. 2 doubles matches from each foe. UVA-Wise was able to avoid the shutout by pulling out a win at No. 3 doubles.
The Hilltoppers' busy weekend continues on Sunday when they host Slippery Rock (Pa.) in a non-conference match at noon.
