PRINCETON, N.J. – West Liberty University wrestling alumnus Rick Iacono was inducted into the New Jersey Chapter of the National Wrestling Hall of Fame here Sunday afternoon at the chapter's 2015 Induction Ceremony and Banquet at the Westin Hotel.
    A 1971 West Liberty graduate, Iacono has been a familiar face on the New Jersey wrestling scene for the past four decades since beginning his coaching career as an assistant coach at Rutgers Preparatory School immediately after receiving his college degree.
    Iacono went on to amass a 324-282-2 record in more than 40 years as a teacher and wrestling coach at Jonathan Dayton Regional, Middlesex and Governor Livingston High Schools before his retirement in 2013. He was a 3-time Union County Coach of the Year and also won a trio of District 10 and District 12 Coach of the Year Awards.
    The former Hilltopper also served the sport for many years as one of the most respected high school, AAU freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling officials in the Garden State while still finding time to win more than 200 games as a high school softball coach.
    Joining Iacono on Sunday as recipients of the Lifetime Service to Wrestling Awards were Chester "Chet" Dalgewicz, Michael J. Buggey, William J. Burke Jr. and John Semar. Frank Mosier was presented with the Outstanding American Award.
    The names of the newest members of the New Jersey Chapter of the National Wrestling Hall of Fame will be placed on permanent display at the National Wrestling Hall of Fame in Stillwater, Okla.
