WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. – The West Liberty University women's tennis team cruised to a 6-3 victory against West Virginia Wesleyan Wednesday afternoon in Mountain East Conference action at the Edgar Martin Tennis Complex.
Coach Heather Gallagher's Hilltoppers (6-3, 3-1) took two of the three doubles matches to grab the early lead and followed that up with four straight-set wins in singles play to clinch the match. Dawson and James also prevailed at Nos. 2 and 3 singles, respectively. Pinchuk and Ana Berbel picked up the other two singles wins for the Black and Gold. The West Liberty women head to the University of Charleston on Friday in what shapes up as a battle for second place in the MEC standings. Doubles action is set to get under way at 3 p.m.
