Lady Hilltoppers Swept at Urbana

URBANA, Ohio – The West Liberty University women's volleyball team was swept by second-place Urbana here Fridaynight in Mountain East Conference action at the Grimes Center.

Coach Kayla Fetsko's Hilltoppers (7-15, 4-5) battled the host Blue Knights (11-10, 8-1) to the wire and beyond in the opening set before dropping a 26-24 verdict. Urbana then closed out the match with back-to-back 25-17 nods.

Alexis Boyd had a double-double for West Liberty with 10 kills and 10 digs while Michaela Hawkins and Chelsea Bertie finished with 7 and 6 kills, respectively. Chelsea Byrge notched 18 assists and Courtney Pyeritz had a match-high 17 digs.

The Lady Hilltoppers return to action on Tuesday with a 7 p.m. match at Notre Dame (Ohio).
