CHARLESTON, W.Va. – The undefeated West Liberty University women's tennis team spoiled the University of Charleston's Mountain East Conference debut on Friday with a 7-2 romp past the Golden Eagles at the Schoenbaum Tennis Complex.
    Coach Heather Gallagher's Hilltoppers (5-0, 3-0) grabbed the upper hand early by taking two of the three doubles matches before rolling to victory in five of the six singles matches to win going away.
    Singles wins came from Lauren Howard, Raissa Wischi, Raquel Cabero, Emily Dawson and Alex Barr.
    Howard and Wischi teamed up for the win at No. 1 doubles with Cabero and Barr combining for the victory at No. 2 doubles.
    The West Liberty women return home to host West Virginia State at noon on Sunday in an early-season meeting of the MEC unbeatens at the Edgar Martin Tennis Complex.
