Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 WASHINGTON, Pa. – The West Liberty University baseball team remained undefeated in West Virginia Conference play on Tuesday with a doubleheader sweep of Glenville State at Consol Energy Park.
    Coach Eric Burkle's Hilltoppers (6-5, 4-0) handled the Pioneers (1-12, 0-4) by scores of 15-0 and 4-1.
    West Liberty launched a 15-hit barrage and scored in every inning but the fourth to bury Glenville in the opener. D.J. Busby led the way with a triple and 2 singles but the St. Clairsville (Ohio) freshman had plenty of help.
    Mike Johnson drove in a pair of runs with a double and a single, Tim Mirandy picked up an RBI with a double and a single and Josh Nagel had two hits and an RBI. Trevor Denman doubled home a run, Taylor Snare had a single and 2 RBIs, Andrew Henry added a run-scoring single and Jonathan Entenmann saved the best for last with a grand slam in the bottom of the sixth.
    Almost overshadowed by the offensive explosion was some quality moundwork. Drew Peterson hurled 5 innings of one-hit ball to earn the win with Bruce Knisley and Brandon Polanski coming on in relief to finish off the 2-hit shutout.
    Scott Castilow's 2-out, 2-run double in the bottom of the third proved to be all the offense West Liberty needed to wrap up the sweep in the second game.
    Chris Secore scattered 4 hits over the first 5 innings to get the win with Jared Taylor and Jordan Daugherty providing 2 innings of no-hit relief out of the bullpen. The Hilltoppers took advantage of three straight walks by Glenville State pitchers to add a pair of insurance runs in the bottom of the sixth.
    West Liberty is scheduled to return to Consol Energy Park on Friday for a 1 p.m. non-conference twinbill against Mercyhurst (Pa.).
