CEDARVILLE, Ohio – The West Liberty University men's tennis team bounced back from an early deficit and pulled away to a 6-3 victory in a non-conference match at Cedarville University on Saturday.
    Coach Sam McCullough's Hilltoppers (9-4) stumbled out of the gate, losing two of the three doubles matches, but regrouped with a strong singles performance to take the nod.
    West Liberty swept five of the six singles matches with No. 1 Ivan Irazabal and No. 2 Erik Jahreskog pulling out three-set wins to finish off the triumph.
    Claiming straight-set wins in singles action were Tyler McCullough, Ayman Barakat and Jesus Gimenez with McCullough and Logan Jarrett teaming up for a win at No. 3 doubles.
    The Hilltoppers return to West Virginia Conference play on Friday with a pair of road matches. West Liberty takes on the University of Charleston in a morning match before making the short trip to Institute for an afternoon match against West Virginia State.
