WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. – The West Liberty University women's tennis team locked up the No. 2 seed in next week's West Virginia Conference championship tournament with a 9-0 rout of Davis & Elkins in the Hilltoppers' final regular season league match Thursday afternoon at the Edgar Martin Tennis Complex.
Coach
Heather Gallagher's hosts (11-1, 9-1) had no trouble dispatching the Senators (6-3, 4-3), losing only two games in sweeping the three doubles matches before rolling to straight-set wins in all six singles matches.

Zineb Houssaini and
Christina Pauley earned singles triumphs for West Liberty. The victorious doubles tandems were Howard and Wischi (No. 1), Barr and Houssaini (No. 2) and Dawson and
Sarah Howells (No. 3).
The Hilltoppers finished second in the WVIAC regular-season standings with their only loss coming on the road at the hands of unbeaten regular-season champion West Virginia State. The WVIAC championship tournament is scheduled for Oct. 18-21 at the Schoenbaum Tennis Complex in Charleston.
The West Liberty women will host St. Vincent (Pa.) Monday at 3 p.m. in a final tuneup for the WVIAC event.
