SAVANNAH, Ga. – The West Liberty University baseball team dropped its seventh straight at the Savannah (Ga.) Invitational on Tuesday as West Virginia Conference rival Concord handed the Black-and-Gold a 14-4 setback in a 9-inning game at Pirate Field.

The Mountain Lions (5-7) led wire-to-wire, scoring two runs in each of the first three innings before adding three more in the fourth to put the game out of reach.

Freshman Mike Johnson had a big game at the plate for West Liberty, pounding out a triple and two singles and scoring a pair of runs. Trent Chapman knocked in a run with a double and single while Zane Madden chipped in with two hits and an RBI.

The Hilltoppers (2-7) wrap up tournament play Wednesday morning with a 10 a.m. game against Kutztown (Pa.), which entered the tournament ranked No. 3 in the Atlantic Region.
