Prior to West Liberty: Spent the 2025 season at the University of Charleston, where he was a member of the Golden Eagles program that finished 8-3.

High School: Attended Burrell High School in Lower Burrell, Pa.

Off the Field: Talan is the son of Tiffany Newcomer and Jim Newcomer. He has one older sister, Skylar. He is majoring in Media Communications.
