Josh Francis

Joshua Francis enter his first season as the defensive line coach for veteran head man Roger Waialae.  

Joshua Francis joined the Waynesburg University football coaching staff before the 2021 season, where he primarily coaches the Yellow Jacket linebackers. Francis came from Geneva College, where he served as the defensive line/pass rush coordinator during the 2020-21 season.

Before transitioning to coaching, Francis had a notable professional career, including a season with the Green Bay Packers in the NFL and another with the CFL’s Calgary Stampeders. At the collegiate level, he was an impactful player for West Virginia University from 2011 to 2014, earning honorable mention All-Big 12 honors and leading the team in sacks and tackles for loss in 2012. Francis began his career at Lackawanna College, where he was a 2010 NJCAA first team All-American. A native of Damascus, Maryland, he graduated from Damascus High School in 2008 and holds a degree in Sociology/Anthropology from WVU. 

Joshua and his wife, Melinda, have four children: Lilielle, Joshua Jr., Elijah, and Isaac.
