Drew Allen

Drew Allen returns for his second season as a graduate assistant coach on the West Liberty sidelines, coaching the tight ends for head coach Roger Waialae.

Following his playing career Allen got his start on the sidelines at his former high school, serving as the defensive backs coach at New Castle (PA) High School for two seasons in 2019 and 2020. A year later in 2021 he broke into the college ranks at Duquesne University where he was a defensive assistant, primarily coaching the defensive backs. His lone season with the Dukes saw the team finish with a 7-3 (5-2 NEC) record while he coached a pair of athletes to all-conference honors in the secondary as Leandro DeBrito earned First Team All-NEC honors and Jeremiah Josephs earned Second Team All-NEC honors.

Allen was a 4-year starter in the defensive secondary at Robert Morris University from 2014-17, recording 183 total tackles and six tackles-for-loss. He defended against 22 passes, breaking-up 19 and intercepting three, including one pick-six, while also blocking two kicks and forcing one fumble during his time in the red and blue. Allen attended a pair of Pro Days hosted by Duquesne and Slippery Rock, showcasing his skills in front of several NFL scouts following the completion of his Colonial playing career.

The New Castle, Pa., native received a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management from Robert Morris University in 2018 and is now pursuing a Master’s Degree in Education at West Liberty University, studying Sports Leadership & Coaching.
