Geraldo Carbello joins the West Liberty University football staff as a Defensive Assistant, bringing firsthand collegiate playing experience and a strong foundation in player development, practice operations, and defensive instruction.
Carbello arrives at West Liberty after serving as an Assistant Coach for Outside Linebackers at Millersville University beginning in August 2025. Prior to Millersville, Carbello gained coaching experience as a football intern at California University of Pennsylvania during the spring of 2024. His responsibilities included assisting with practice setup, film breakdown, scouting reports, and opponent preparation. He also contributed to player evaluations, further developing his understanding of defensive structure and game planning.
Carbello has additional coaching background as a volunteer wrestling coach at Susquehanna Township High School from 2021–22, where he emphasized technique, conditioning, and mental toughness while mentoring student-athletes on discipline and accountability.
A former collegiate outside linebacker, Carbello played football at California University of Pennsylvania from 2022–24 after beginning his career at Seton Hill University (2020–22). His playing experience at the Division II level provides him with practical insight into linebacker play, defensive concepts, and team culture.
Carbello earned his Bachelor of Science in Sport Management from Pennsylvania Western University – California in May 2024. He brings enthusiasm, attention to detail, and a player-first approach to the Hilltopper program as he continues to develop as a coach.
