BELLE VERNON, Pa. — The West Liberty University women's golf team sits 14th after Thursday's opening day of the 2026 Vulcan Invitational at Cedarbrook GCS. The Hilltoppers finished the opening day at +163 in the team standings, with the 16-team field set to complete the second round and play the third and final round on Friday.

Samantha Spearman paced the Hilltoppers individually, standing tied for 48th at +26 after the opening portion of play. Jessica Mix is 71st at +40, while Hannah Shepherd sits 75th at +47.
Morgan Messner is listed 80th at +53, while Brooke Perri is 85th at +69.

West Chester leads the team standings at +31, followed by Jefferson at +36 and Wheeling at +46.

The Vulcan Invitational, hosted by California (Pa.), features an NCAA Division II field competing at Cedarbrook GCS. The Hilltoppers will return to the course Friday to complete the second round before playing the tournament's third and final round.
