CLARION, Pa. — West Liberty closed out the Golden Eagle Autumn Invitational on Sunday, finishing ninth in the 10-team field with a two-round score of 823 (+247) at Clarion Oaks Golf Club.
The Hilltoppers improved by seven strokes in the final round, posting a team score of 408 (+120) after opening the tournament with a 415 (+127).
Samantha Spearman led West Liberty individually, finishing 31st with a two-round total of 186 (+42). Spearman followed Saturday's 95 with a 91 in Sunday's final round.
Jessi Mix was next for the Hilltoppers, tying for 36th at 193 (+49) after carding a 97 in the final round. Jocey Williams finished 38th at 195 (+51), posting a second-round 99.
Hannah Shepard finished 45th with a 214 (+70), shooting 107 in both rounds, while
Brooke Perri rounded out West Liberty's team score in 49th place at 230 (+86) after a final-round 113.
Competing as individuals,
Morgan Messner finished tied for 50th at 235 (+91), and
Delaney Homer also tied for 50th at 235 (+91).
Kutztown captured the team title with a 654 (+78), edging Seton Hill (659, +83) and Millersville (676, +100). Clarion finished fourth at 680 (+104), followed by California at 693 (+117).
Clarion's McKayla Kerle claimed individual medalist honors with a two-round score of 157 (+13), finishing two strokes ahead of Kutztown's Brooke Graham (159, +15).
