2/14/2026 1:49:00 PM

WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. — The West Liberty Hilltoppers women's basketball return to the ASRC on Saturday afternoon for a Mountain East Conference matchup against Fairmont State Fighting Falcons women's basketball. Tipoff is set for 2 p.m for senior day. Prior to tip-off the WLU will recognize seniors Anna Lucarelli and Halley Smith

West Liberty (7-16, 4-12 MEC) looks to bounce back after a competitive road effort at Frostburg State, while Fairmont State (18-5, 12-4 MEC) enters the weekend tied near the top of the conference standings.

The Hilltoppers hold a 49-42 all-time edge in the series, though the Falcons have won the last several meetings, including a 76-54 decision in Fairmont earlier this season.

West Liberty averages 71.0 points per game, ranking fifth in the MEC in scoring offense, and leads the conference in assists per game (14.3) — a testament to the team's ball movement and offensive spacing.

The Hilltoppers are paced by:

West Liberty ranks second in the MEC in three-pointers made per game (7.4) and will look to stretch the floor against a Fairmont defense that allows opponents to shoot 31.4% from beyond the arc.

Fairmont State averages 74.9 points per game while allowing just 67.9, good for the fourth-best scoring defense in the conference. The Falcons thrive on pressure, ranking second in the MEC with 13.0 steals per game and forcing nearly 25 turnovers per contest.

Gabby Reep leads the Falcons at 14.3 points per game, while Haylen Cook and Alanna Tate provide additional scoring balance. Fairmont State's ability to create offense off turnovers (24.7 points per game) will be a key factor.
